Small Scale Reptile Rescue offers many services to the public as well as local animal related businesses. All animals in the rescue come exclusively from shelters. We provide safe keep housing for reptiles involved in court cases, as well as animals that need to remain under the custody of the shelter however are unable to be housed on premise. We offer rapid placement for shelters on all species of reptiles with immediate response in regards to dangerous reptiles such as large pythons, crocodilians and venomous species. We offer a "Reptile Basics" training course in the shelter to train staff proper handling and proper containment and adoption processes.
We also offer classroom demonstrations, boy scout packs, girl scout troops and much more. Donation cost of these events varies with time and travel costs.
We no longer accept owner surrenders. We also offer an information hotline where you can get your questions answered or help locally with reptile issues.
We also offer a variety of educational programs. School presentations can be tailored to suit any age group. We also are available for scout presentations. While we do not require payment, we do ask that a donation be made to cover the cost of fuel.
As a member to Chicago Herpetological Society and the IRCF, we participate in various large scale educational programs that promote reptile ownership and also conservation movements.
